Clothes tell a story

ours tell the story of a nation

An elderly woman sitting on a porch holding a cigarette, wearing a T-shirt with a "Founders Thread" logo. Next to her stands a bearded man wearing a cap and a yellow T-shirt with "Iowa" and a motto about liberties and rights. They are in front of a rustic wooden building.
A person with red hair sitting in the back of a rusty truck wearing a gray t-shirt that says "Iowa" in large letters. They have work gloves on their lap and there's farmland in the background.
Two T-shirts displayed over a cornfield backdrop with a sunrise. The left T-shirt has "Hunt Iowa" text and graphic, and the right T-shirt has "Three Carver Cones For Me" text and design.

Iowa proud

Iowa has one of the best mottos in the nation. It’s hard to believe that it originated from a group of politicians. If it were rewritten today it would include a couple caveats. *Personal liberties are subject to government regulation. **Government regulation is subject to political opinion.

There have been some amazing athletes come through Carver Hawkeye Arena. Some of the best are found playing women’s basketball. There are also some great folks in the arena that help serve the “Carver Cones.” No matter how long the ice cream line may be, it’s 100% worth the wait.

Iowa has around 3 million people and consistently grows well over 100 billion pounds of corn per year. That’s enough for each Iowan to be buried under a giant mound of corn.

VETERAN APPAREL

My rifle and myself know that what counts in this war is not the rounds we fire, the noise of our burst, nor the smoke we make. We know that it is the hits that count. We will hit…

Getting older is basically a long, slow journey from “I believe in people!” to “Everyone’s full of shit, and I need a nap.” It’s not that you want to be cynical, life just keeps handing you evidence like it’s building a case.

Heated political discourse is not new. In 1856, a member of the House beat a Senator almost to death in the U.S. Capitol using a cane. The overtly racist guy who did the beating resigned and then was subsequently reelected by the people.

The Bottled-in-Bond Act of 1897 was an important effort to ensure the qualify and authenticity of American whiskey. Only after taking care of whiskey did we decide to address the right for women to vote, the Federal Reserve, fair housing, and civil rights. Makes sense.

Sixty-one percent of Americans consider Iowa to be entirely part of the Midwest, indicating a general awareness of its location. However, this also suggests that nearly 40% either don't associate Iowa with the Midwest or are unsure. You people need help.

The goldendoodles are taking over. They will soon begin exploiting all the other animals. The Goldendoodle Revolution will likely begin in Ankeny and quickly spread to Des Moines. Once that happens, it’s game over. Don’t bother fighting back. They’re just too adorable.
